In 2006 Helen's paper Telling Tales: Performance Poets' Accounts of Why they Perform was presented and published as part of the 2006 Psychology Postgraduate Conference at the University of the West of England.
2007
In March 2007 the abstract for Helen's paper The Quiet Revolution of Poetry Slam: The Sustainability of Cultural Capital in the Light of Changing Artistic Conventions was published as part of The European Sociological Associations' Sociology for the Arts Conference in Lüneburg, Germany. An abridged draft of this paper was published in the same year in the National Association of Gifted Children's regular newsletter, and reprinted in Gray Matters. In July 2007 Helen published a two part article about her experience of researching poetry slam, entitled Studying Slam, on the Metaroar website. The article can be accessed here
